Healthy & Happy Day

On Tuesday 22nd June, over 300 year three pupils took part in a healthy and happy day at Shelley College. The participants attend First Schools from across the Kirkburton and Scissett Middle cluster of Schools.

On their arrival at the College pupils were split into sixteen different groups named after a fruit or vegetable, to promote healthy eating. Each group which consisted of children from a mixture of Schools took part in four different activities led by sport co-ordinators and coaches from the Newsome Schools Sport Partnership.  The happy activities in which all children took part in were Tri-golf, Tag Rugby, Rounders and Ultimate Frisbee.
